We go instead. Twelve times a year, one visit a month, in 60 cemeteries across King County and southern Snohomish.

What actually happens at the grave

Someone kneels down, cleans the stone by hand, tidies the grass around it, sets a flower, photographs the whole thing, and sends it to you. No pressure washers, no acid, nothing that takes the face off granite or marble.

You get the photo the same week. That is the part families tell us they did not expect to matter so much.
